And...Umm...Who Will Hear Your Mother's Concerns? (2020)
Starring a creepy and awkwardly animated avatar of my then 5-year-old son, this video considers the phrase "the voice of the people is the voice of god" as a fraught democratic principle. My son performs the majority of the voiceover. The technologized performance of creating And…Um…Who Will Hear Your Mother's Concerns? demonstrates the often troubling power dynamics at the heart of parenting as well as the challenges of "having a voice" in the public sphere.
